JEE Advanced Paper Analysis - Paper 1 and 2

As the JEE Advanced 2018 has been concluded, aspirants will be searching for JEE Advanced analysis. Thus, we are providing the JEE Advanced analysis by Motion IIT JEE from the points below.

  • The total marks of JEE Advanced have been reduced from 183 to 180
  • Therefore, the total marks of JEE Advanced 2018 were 360
  • Equal weightage was given to topics from class 11 and 12
  • Paper 1 was in the range between easy to moderate with Physics as the toughest subject
  • While, Paper 2 was moderate, in which Mwhich Mathematics section was the difficult one
  • Overall Paper 2 was relatively tougher than Paper 1, as per the comparison

JEE Advanced 2018 Analysis Paper 1

Overall: JEE Advanced Paper 1 was moderate this year.

Section 1: This section had 6 questions, with four options. Out of these options, one or more than one answers were correct. 

Section 2: This section had 8 questions having the numerical value answers. For each question, the commercial value was to be rounded off to second decimal place (eg. 6.25, 7.00, -2.75)

Section 3: In this section, 2 paragraphs and only one option was correct out of the four.

Total maximum marks for paper 1 was 160. Section 1 and 2 were of 24 marks, respectively, while section 3 was of 12 marks.

JEE Advanced 2018 Analysis Paper 2

Overall: JEE Advanced paper 2 was moderate for all test takers. 

Section 1: It has 6 questions with four options, of which one or more than one can be correct.

Section 2: It contained 8 questions with the correct response as the numerical value to be rounded off to be at the second decimal place (eg. 6.24, 7.68, -3.54)

Section 3: This section had 4 questions. Each question had two matching list-I and list-II. Only one of the four options were correct corresponding to the correct marking.

Total marks of Paper 2 was 180
