About WARI Fellowship

Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowship Program is launched by IUSST Forum to provide an opportunity to the brightest students and scientists in India to gain exposure and access to world-class research facilities at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute. The Other objectives of the Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowship Program are:

  • Promotion of Research and Capacity Building in the area of water.
  • Encouragement and motivation of outstanding students to take up research as a career.
  • Pave the way for the next generation scientists and technologists from India to interact with American peers, thus helping to build long-term R&D linkages and collaborations.
  • India & USA have partnered to nurture cooperation between students and scientists from USA and India after recognising that Water is of fundamental importance for human development, the environment and the economy.

Number of Fellowships & Internships

  • Student Internships: 5
    • Duration: Minimum 3 months and up to 6 months
  • Fellowships: 5
    • Duration: Minimum 3 months and up to 12 months

Details

Age

  • For Student Internships: Up to 32 years as on 31 December 2017
  • For Fellowships: Up to 40  years as on 31 December 2017

Qualification

  • For Student Internships: Currently pursuing a PhD in Water Science and Engineering at a recognised institution of higher education and learning in India.
  • For Fellowships:
    • Having PhD in Water Science and Engineering
    • Should be able of doing independent research work and have published in internationally recognised academic journals.
    • It is also open to applicants working in the fields of Water resources, water chemistry and environmental engineering.
    • Employment: Candidates can be an employee of a public funded R&D Lab/ S&T Institution (non-private)/ recognised Universities/Colleges in India.

WARI Fellowship Reward

 Internship includes 

  • Air-fare (To be facilitated by IUSSTF Travel desk)
  • Monthly Stipend
  • Contingency allowance
  • Health insurance
  • Partial Housing allowance

Fellowship includes:

Eligible candidates can fill the application form through online mode on the official website within the last date. Candidates are encouraged to submit the application along with documents as a single word/pdf document.
