About Swami Dayanand Merit-cum-Means Scholarship

Merit cum Means Scholarship for students studying in IITs/NITs, Government Medical/Architecture colleges is being offered by Swami Dayanand Charitable Educational Foundation. The foundation will provide in all 200 scholarships under Swami Dayanand Merit cum Means Scholarship to the Engineering, Medical and Architecture Students. The scholarships will be offered to deserving students who belong to economically weaker sections of society so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education and increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability.

Details
  • Nationality: Indian nationals only
  • The scholarships are applicable only for studies in India.
  • Medical Students: Applicants must be in a government Medical college and admission must be based on the competitive exam conducted by central/state boards.
  • Architecture Students: Applicants must be in a government Medical college and admission must be based on the competitive exam conducted by central/state boards.
  • Candidate should have secured minimum 70% marks in Class 12 and should be a student of Graduate Engineering of IITs or NITs. 
  • For existing students at IIT/NITs, Grade Point Average (GPA) should be at least 6.5 in 10 points scale system.
  • Gross Annual Family Income: Gross annual income of the family of the candidate from all sources should not be more than Rs. 6.00 lacs per annum. However, the students having lowest family income shall be given preference in the ascending order.
  • Age Limit: The age of the candidate should not be more than 25 years as on 1 October 2016.
  • Candidates who are not availing or intending to avail any other financial assistance/scholarship from any other source are eligible 

Swami Dayanand Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Reward

The scholarship will be paid on an annual basis only. The continuation of Scholarship, once awarded, should be subject to the satisfactory conduct and performance of the candidate in their examinations on Annual/ Semester basis every year.

Swami Dayanand Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Application form and Process

Applicants have to register online for the scholarship by filling up the Online application form available on the link given below. After filling up the application form applicants have to submit the application form along with the supporting documents to the address given below. 

Enclosures to be sent with the Application form

  • Rank Card of Entrance Exam
  • Proof of age
  • Two Recent passport size photographs
  • Mark Sheet of Class 10 & 12
  • Annual Income Certificate of Family
  • Bank details in the ECS form.
  • Copy of PAN card
  • A copy of AADHAR ID
  • A copy of Fee Receipt submitted by the student or Admission letter, in case of a student who has taken admission this year.

Essay Submission

Along with the submission of the application form and write an essay in their own handwriting on ““What Improvements are needed in College Education” in Not more than 300 words which are to be sent along with the above documents to the address given below.

Submission of the Application form

 

The candidates have to fill the online application form on or before the due date i.e. 31 August 2017. Along with the application form, the candidates are also required to send the above-mentioned documents in a sealed cover should be sent by Speed Post/ Registered Post only at the designated address and reach us on or before 15 September 2017. The Application Form must be duly certified and forwarded by the respective Head/ Principal/ Dean of the Institute/ College.

Swami Dayanand Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Selection Process

  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit and family background
  • Eligible Students having the lowest income shall be given preference in the ascending order.
  • Percentage of marks obtained in the course and annual income of the family will also be taken into consideration.
    • Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in class 12 and their performance in the ongoing session.
  • Intimation to the Selected candidates will be done through email or at the address mentioned in the scholarship application form.
