About Saltire Scholarships

Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships (SSS) is a scholarship offered as a funding tie-up between Scottish Higher Education Institutions and the Government of Scotland. The programme of Saltire Scholarships offers funding towards tuition fees for Undergraduate, Masters or PhD course at any of the recognised institutions in Scotland for one year. The following subjects are offered majorly under the scholarship

  • Creative industries
  • Life Sciences
  • Technology
  • Financial services
  • Renewable and clean energy

However, the list of courses varies from institution to institution. The students need to check with their institution for the list of courses under which the scholarship is offered. There is no application/registration fee and the last date for applying was 1 June 2020.

Saltire Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

Gender Both
Region Canada, China, India, Pakistan and the United States of America
Class/ Age  Scholarship for pursuing UG/PG or Ph. D Course
Details
  • Candidates have to be a citizen of any of the above-mentioned countries.
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they can meet the costs of living in Scotland and the remaining tuition fees.
  • Candidates should have Have a conditional or unconditional offer of a place at a Scottish university on an eligible course before an application can be considered.

Non Eligibility

  • Candidates should not have previously studied for a full undergraduate degree in Scotland.
  • Candidates should not have previously received a Saltire Scholarship.

Saltire Scholarships Reward

Saltire Scholarships offers 50 awards worth 8000 pounds each. This will cover the tuition fee for one full year for UG, PG or PhD courses. The remaining amount will have to be borne by the candidate.

Saltire Scholarships Application form and Process

Aspirants can apply for the scholarship by filling up the application form. The last date to apply is 1 June 2020

Selected candidates will be duly informed by their university of choice for studying any of the following courses:

  • Creative industries
  • Life Sciences
  • Technology
  • Financial services
  • Renewable and clean energy
  • Candidates can also opt for broader subject areas but the above-mentioned sectors will be considered a priority.
  • There is no application fee.
