Olympus Global Open Photo Contest 2016-17

Olympus Global Open Photo Contest 2016-17 is being organised by Olympus Corporation to promote Photography as a medium for people to express themselves.The Olympus Global Open Photo Contest 2016 is open to everyone who can register on the official website and submit their entries for the Photo Contest.

There is no restriction of qualification, expertise or age in Olympus Global Open Photo Contest 2016-17.The candidates can upload their entries in any of the four categories:

• Power of Life
• Connections of Cherish
• Places that Inspire
• Perspectives Often Missed

There is no registration fee to be a part of the photo contest and the Grand Prize winner will get an Olympus PEN Camera with lens kit and Cash prize worth 1 million Japanese Yen (Approx. 5 Lakh INR).The Last date to submit entries for the Photo Contest is January 10, 2017, and the winners will be announced in February 2017.

Prizes will be presented to one Grand Prize winner plus fourteen winners per theme. The details of the prize are as follow:

Grand Prize: The winner of the Grand prize will get an Olympus PEN Camera with lens kit and a cash prize worth 1,000,000 Japanese Yen (Approx. INR 5 Lakh).

First Prize: One winner from every theme will get Olympus OM-D E-M1 + M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO.

Second Prize: Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II + M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f/4.0-5.6 II will be presented to the second prize winner from every theme.

Third Prize: The winner of the third prize from every theme has the liberty to choose his prize out of Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II + M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ OR Olympus PEN E-PL7 + M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ.

Bonus Prize: A bonus prize per theme will be awarded and it will be a Latest Olympus PEN Camera + Lens Kit.

Runners-Up Prize: Moleskine Custom Edition Hard Cover Notebook with Olympus camera cover design will be offered as Runners-Up Prize to 10 participants from each theme.

The Applications for the Olympus Global Open Photo Contest 2016 can be made online and the candidates can register using their email ids. The details of the application process are as follow:

Image Specifications: To participate in the Olympus Global Open Photo Contest 2016 the images to be submitted should be in accordance to the follow:

Themes: The images can be uploaded in any of the following 5 Themes:

• Birth: The beginning of life is truly beautiful. Enter a photo of a sprout, a baby, or anything that symbolises the birth of life.
• Places to Preserve: Everyone has a place that they want future generations to see and experience. Enter a photo of scenery, building, a town, a shop -- anywhere that you want to see unchanged for the future.
• Smiles and Laughter: Even a simple, small smile can make your day. And laughter, after all, is the best medicine. Enter your best photo of a smile or laughter.
• Macro: In the macro world, the tiny wonders are larger than life. Enter a photo of a flower, an insect, a droplet -- anything using macro photography.
• Art: There are several ways to make a photo artistic, from the use of Art Filters and post production software, to simply being selective in subject matter or composition. Enter a photo that you made into a work of art.

Format: The format of the image should be in JPEG Format.

File Size: The size of the picture should be maximum 15 MB.

Number of Entries: any participant can submit up to 5 entries in each theme.

• A single image cannot be uploaded to more than one category.

Judging Panel: The selection of the entries will be done by a panel of 6 judges named as :

• Kim Lau, Photographer, Singapore
• Yann Manach, Photographer, French
• Silvijo Selmann, Photographer, Croatia
• Tetsuro Shimizu, Photographer, Japan
• Supasit Srisawathsak, Fashion Photographer, Thailand

Result: The names of the winners will be announced in the month of February 2017. The notifications will be sent via mail to the winners.
