About Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Min. Students

Delhi Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students - Department for the welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minorities invites applications from deserving candidates for Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority students. Students from class 1 to 12 are eligible to make applications for the scholarship and the selection of the candidate will be done on the basis of the merit list. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority categories, the scholarship will be offered from class 1 but for candidates belonging to OBC category, the scholarship will be offered to students from class 6 onwards. The application process is completely offline and the students need to deposit their application forms to the Principal of their respective schools. The candidates selected for the Delhi Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students will get a scholarship based on the class in which they are studying and on the basis of the marks obtained by them in their previous class. The candidates of Minority communities are eligible for the given scholarships 2017-18:

  • Category: The Scholarship scheme is only for the candidates belonging to reserved categories i.e. SC/ST/OBC/Minority.
  • Academic Qualification & Minimum marks: The information regarding the academic qualification and minimum marks required are as follow:

  • Annual Family Income: There is no criterion of minimum family income for students belonging to SC/ST categories but for OBC /Minority candidates the family income should be less than Rs. 2 lac per annum.
    • The OBC and Minority students need to submit the self-declaration of the income proof in the prescribed format.

Delhi Merit Scholarship - Eligibility for Minority Candidates

  • The candidates must belong to any one of the given below minority communities i.e. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) and Jains
  • The candidate must be pursuing their studies in Government or Private Institutions/Colleges/Schools.
  • The course being pursued is of one or more years.
  • The applicants must have secured 50% marks in the last annual/board examinations attended by them.

The amount of scholarship being offered to a candidate depends upon the category to which the candidate belongs and also with the percentage of mark secured by the candidate in the previous class. So the details related to the scholarship amount are being shown by the help of the table:

Delhi Merit Scholarship Rewards for Minority Candidates

The Students are allowed to avail scholarship benefit either under State Scheme or Centrally sponsored scholarship scheme. The rate of the scholarships is discussed below for the minority scholarships under Pre Matric, Post Matric and MOMA Scholarship.

Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Min. Students Application form and Process

The scholarship applications are to be filled by the candidates and deposited to the head of the institution in order to complete the application procedure. The details are as follow:

  • Mode of Application: Complete application process is offline and the application forms can be downloaded from the official website. >> Click here to download the application form.
    • Documents to be attached: In order to complete the application process the following documents are to be attached with the application for completing the application process:
      • Self-attested copy of mark sheet of last examination passed.
      • Self-attested copy of Caste Certificate
      • Self-attested copy of Adhar card/ Ration Card/ Driving License etc.
      • Details of Student’s bank account verified by bank authorities (It can also be a joint bank account with parents)
      • An affidavit of the declaration of Minority status.
      • Self-declaration of family income

Note: 
The scholarship, once awarded, may be renewed during next academic year of the course on the production of the certificate that the student has secured 50% marks.


Submission of Application                    

The completely filled application forms are to be submitted by the students to the Principal of their respective schools as individual applications directly from the students will not be entertained. It will be the responsibility of the Principal to submit the application forms at designated centres on the basis of the location of the school. The details of the centres are as follow:
