JBNSTS: Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search 2021

Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search 2021 Exam is conducted by JBNSTS Kolkata which is an autonomous Registered Society. The Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search 2021 Scholarship Programme aims to the conservation of scientific talent in the country and at the same time adding fresh minds/people to the existing science and technology domain. JBNSTS is conducted separately for Class 10 and Class 12 students. For students who have passed Class 10 in 2021 will appear in Junior Talent Search Test (JTST) and students who have passed Class 12 in 2021 will appear in the Senior Talent Search Test (STST)

• JBNSTS was set up with a vision to pay tribute to India’s first modern scientist Acharya J.C Bose. The Senior Scholarship Programme of JBNSTS is being conducted since 1958.
• It is considered one of the most reputed scholarships in the country. Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search 2021 Exam will be conducted on 21 November 2021
• From 2019, a unique initiative as Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti has been taken to promote girls' higher education. Under Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti plan, Rs. 4000 per month and an annual Book grant of Rs. 5000 for four/ five years through JBNSTS Senior Scholarship Test.

For Senior Scholars

• A Monthly Scholarship of Rs.4000
• A Yearly book grant of Rs. 5000  for 4/5 years (till completion of B.Tech/ BE/ MBBS/ BSMS/M.Sc).

For Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti

• A Monthly Scholarship of Rs.4000
• A Yearly book grant of Rs. 5000  for 4/5 years (till completion of B.Tech/ BE/ MBBS/ BSMS/M.Sc).

The top 10 boys and top 10 girls ranked in this examination shall be awarded a laptop

Apart from Scholarship, the following benefits are available to scholars

JNBSTS Scholars would be Considered for Inspire Scholarship

• Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search Scholars will directly be considered for the SHE Scholarship under the INSPIRE Programme of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.
• Under Inspire Scholarship the students receive a Scholarship of Rs. 80,000 per annum until the completion of the Master's Degree.

In the case of the online application, the application form needs to be filled on the official website of JBNSTS.

Application Fee: The Candidates are required to pay the examination fee of Rs.200 by credit card/ debit card/ net banking/wallet/UPI

Upload Documents: In order to complete the application, the following documents are required to be uploaded to complete the application form:

1. Photograph (width 160 X height 190 pixels)
2. Signature (width 160 X height 100 pixels)
3. Documents of Class 10: Scanned copy of Class 10 mark sheet in pdf format.
4. Documents of Class 12: Scanned copy of Class 12 mark sheet in pdf format.

JBNSTS Application Submission

Completing the online application form and making the payment of the application fee is itself enough to complete the submission of the application form. No document has to be sent with the application form

JBNSTS Scholarship Test Admit card

The JBNSTS Admit card will be sent to the email address that is filled by the candidates at the time of the online application.

JBNSTS Exam Centres

The exam will be conducted in online mode and students do not have to go to the exam centre as they can appear in the test in the online mode. 

Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search 2021 will be conducted in online mode and students can appear in the test from home. The exam can be taken on an Android phone or laptop or desktop enabled with a camera microphone and internet facilities.

JBNSTS 2021: Online Test from Home

• Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search Exam will be conducted on 21 November 2021, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon
• The Exam is conducted in English and Bengali.
• Candidates may use scientific calculators, log tables etc. for JBNSTS 2021.

JBNSTS Exam Pattern

Senior Talent Search Test / Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Online Exam

• Duration of Exam: 90 minutes duration
• Maximum Marks:75
• No. of questions to be answered: 27

Students are to answer Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (any 3 subjects as per their choice)

JBNSTS Negative Marking

• Section A - There is a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer 
• Section B: There is a negative marking of 2 marks for each wrong answer

JBNSTS Senior Talent Exam Syllabus

• The syllabus will be of 12th std. Examination and will cover the following subjects
• Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (questions from any 3 subjects are to be answered)

JBNSTS Result 2021

JBNSTS Result 2021 for the senior Scholarship Programme will be declared in December 2021. This is the final result declared by the JBNSTS. JBNSTS Result 2021 will be available as soon as it releases. Candidates who have been selected will be given the scholarship.
