University of Tokyo GSS Scholarship for Master's in Japan

The university of Tokyo invites Self-Supported International Students to apply for Graduate School of Science Scholarship.

• Eligibility: Those students who are having valid College Student Visa and have not received MEXT or any other government scholarship will be considered for the Graduate School of Science Scholarship.
  • Graduate School of Science Scholarship is for candidates seeking admission into Master’s Course in the University of Tokyo after appearing in the entrance examination for the Master’s Program.
• Awards: Graduate School of Science Scholarship program offers a partial scholarship to the selected candidates and the candidates will get a monthly allowance of INR 81,000.
• Application: The applications for the scholarship will be accepted offline at the given postal address for April 2017 is October 31, 2016, and September 2017 is May 1, 2017
• Type of Scholarship: Partially Paid Scholarship
• Course level: Master’s Level
• Duration of Scholarship: April/September 2017 to March/August 2022
• Country for Study: Japan
• Course Commence: September 2016.

The scholarships will be offered to candidates i.e. international students having College Student Visa but have not received MEXT or any other Government Scholarship. The details of the rewards are:

• Duration of Scholarship: The scholarship will be offered from April/September 2017 to March/August 2022 i.e. for 5 years.
• Monthly Stipend: The candidates selected for the scholarship will receive the monthly stipend of 1,50,000 Yen (Approx. INR 81,000).
• Payment of the scholarship: The selected candidates will receive the scholarship amount directly in their bank account every quarter once the confirmation of the scholarship is received.

 The candidates should make application for the Scholarship offline and the details of the application are as follow:

• Application Form: The application form for the scholarship can be downloaded from the official website. 
• Required documents: The candidates are required to submit completely filled GSS Scholarship application form along with a Letter of Reference from a faculty member of your college or university.

• The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the documents submitted by them and the shortlisted candidates will be nominated to DEAN.
• The candidates selected for the scholarship will be informed via email within one month after the acceptance letter for the Master’s Program is sent out.
