Fountain Magazine Essay Writing Contest 2016

• In celebration of dedicated service of 20 years, The Fountain magazine is sponsoring a Fountain Magazine Essay Writing Contest.
• Cash prizes will be awarded to selected three winners who have written the best essay about the issues facing today’s immigrants.
• Theme for Fountain Magazine  Essay Writing Contest 2016:"Are you an immigrant, too? Were your parents or grandparents immigrants? Are we all immigrants in this world? How do immigrants contribute to your society? How do they cause problems in your society? How would you help immigrants thrive?"

Last year's theme was:  “What do you think the theme of the 21st century will be- How do you think history will record the 21st century"

The candidates have to fill in an Online Application Form available on the official website to submit the Essay.

• The candidates cannot submit more than one Essay

• From the above mentioned topics, candidates can include as many topics as they think are relevant for writing the essay. It is authenticity and uniqueness, and how elaborately you put your theme into words so that others are inspired from it

Specifications of the Essay

• Word Count: 1500 to 2500 words
• Essays are expected to be factual, but with an inspirational style that will feed both our reason and soul.

Submission of Essay

On successfully filling the form, Essays must be submitted through the Essay Contest Page at https://www.fountainmagazine.com/essaycontest.

The candidates will be selected by the panel of judges who will select as per the literary effectiveness of the essay in reflecting the philosophy behind the motto, richness in content, and authenticity.  All submitted essays will be evaluated using the following criteria. 

• Relevance to the contest theme (40 points)
• Innovation & creativity (30 points)
• Writing style and structure (30 points)

The winners will be announced on January 30, 2017
