About Dr. Ambedkar Foundation National Essay Competition

Dr. Ambedkar National Essay Competition 2016 is conducted by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation in association with Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, is conducting an essay writing competition for students of recognised schools and colleges/universities.

The aim of the Dr. Ambedkar National Essay Competition 2016 is to notify students about the rising social issues and have then come to terms with Dr. Ambedkar’s line of thought. Students are supposed to analyse a social issue and suggest ways to establish a stronger social democracy and a just society.

This competition is held every year and the medium of competition is Hindi and English.  There is no entry fees for the Essay Writing Competition.

There are two categories of the Essay Competition are:

  • Recognised schools- Class 9-12
    • Topic- Dr. Ambedkar's views on: Ambedkar's views on Nation & Nationalism. (2000 words)
  • Recognized colleges, Universities/ Institutions
    • Topic- Personality of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, his Social Environment, his Education or Western Thoughts (3500 words)

Details
  • Students from any recognized school or college/university/institutions can apply in the competition.
  • Each participant can submit only one essay entry.
  • Each participant has to submit a certificate indicating that the essay is their original work.
  • The individual participant shall enclose a certificate issued by the concerned recognized school/ college/ University/ institutions, certifying that he/she is a bonafide student

  • Winners will be called to Delhi for the award ceremony.
  • The expenditure for winners travelling, lodging will be provided by the foundation.

Dr. Ambedkar Foundation National Essay Competition Application form and Process

All participants need to fill the application form by downloading it. The essays can be written in either English or Hindi.

Along with their entries, participants should also send in their bonafide certificate from the institutions recognising that they are students of that institution.

Participants should send two clean typed copies (one original & other photocopy) of the essay.

One copy should include name, address, topic, language, e-mail, phone no. etc. with the signature of the participant, while the other copy need not show any such particulars.

Relevant information like name, e-mail address, postal address, institution, course and year of study etc. of the student participant should be indicated in the covering letter and strictly not in the essay.

The candidates must mention on the top of the envelope “Dr. Ambedkar Foundation National Essay Competition- 2016” and send the entries in person or with registered / Speed post to the following address:

Dr. Ambedkar Foundation National Essay Competition Selection Process

Dr Ambedkar National Essay Competition Result

The results can be checked on the website of Ambedkar foundation. The Ambedkar Foundation will select a Chairman who will then form a committee to evaluate the essays and decide the winners.

The essays will be judged on the following criteria-

  • Content- 50 Marks
  • Analysis/ interpretation- 20 Marks
  • Presentation- 15 Marks
  • Writing Skills- 15 Marks

          Total- 100 Marks
