About AMD Internship 2017

AMD Internship 2017 program is for the students who are studying in the final year of MSc / M. Tech / MSc Tech from any recognised university or institutions in India. Atomic Minerals Directorate (AMD) for Exploration and Research offers AMD Internship 2017 with an aim to encourage the students who are studying in post-graduation to take short-term project work in priority areas of Uranium exploration. The students who have a minimum of 4 weeks of fieldwork project will be eligible for AMD Internship 2017. The candidates selected for the AMD Internship 2017 will be awarded Rs 5,000.

  • The application process is already started and the last date to submit the application form is 31 December 2017.

AMD Internship 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Details The students who are studying in the final year of MSc / M. Tech / MSc Tech in the field of Geophysics, Geology, Chemistry, Physics and other related subjects are only eligible to apply for AMD Internship program.

AMD Internship 2017 Reward

  • The candidates who are selected for AMD Internship program will be given a lump sum grant of Rs. 5000 as a stipend for field-oriented project work. AMD Internship 2017 Stipend partially covers the incidental expenditure which may occur in the field areas.
  • The candidates who are doing laboratory oriented project work will not be eligible to receive AMD Internship Stipend. The candidates who are already being awarded stipend and other financial support from their university are also not eligible for the AMD Internship Stipend.

AMD Internship 2017 - Other Facilities

  • Apart from internship stipend, AMD will also provide the following facilities to the students during internship period:
    • Field transport as and when feasible
    • One field guide/ Assistant
    • Scintillometers / Gamma-ray spectrometers required for the work
    • Geophysical field instrumentation
    • Laboratory facilities to the extent required
    • Library facilities including temporary borrowing of books
    • Internet browsing facilities, including full access to Science Direct

AMD Internship 2017 Application form and Process

The eligible students can apply for AMD Internship 2017 through offline mode. The candidates can download the application form by following the link given on this page. The last to submit the application form is 31 December 2017. The candidates are advised to follow the following guideline to fill and submit the application form:

  • First, the candidates have to download the application form and have to fill it properly.
  • The candidates have to provide the basic information such as personal information, information about the current university/ Institution, contact details, address, academic qualification details, Additional Information, Other Special recognition / Information, Preferred Project Details etc.
  • Thereafter, the candidates have to sign in the box given in there. The candidates have not to pay any application fee.

Application Submission


The desired candidates can apply for the AMD Internship 2017 only through offline mode. The filled application form should be submitted by post or email through Head of the Department or Dean of the institution where the student is currently studying. The application form must be submitted latest by 31 December 2017.

AMD Internship 2017 Selection Process

The candidates who are applying for AMD Internship 2017 will be selected by the AMD. All the application submitted by the students will be evaluated and approved on the basis of following:

  • Academic merit of the student
  • Topicality and
  • Relevancy and significance of the project to AMD

After approval, intimation will be sent to the applicant through his / her head of the department. The project work will be carried out after approval by the students at a period of time which is suitable to the institution.

Scope: The candidates will have to submit a report to the concerned university/institution leading to the award of the postgraduate degree. The program will be operative in all the 7 regions of AMD at New Delhi, Bangalore, Shillong, Jamshedpur, Jaipur, Nagpur, and Hyderabad and also in the sectional headquarters. On satisfactory completion of the project work, AMD will honour the students with a certificate.

AMD Internship 2017 Preferred Project Topics and Duration of Work


A number of short-term project topics will be identified by the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMD) on the basis of priorities in uranium exploration and research. The list of preferred project topics can be seen on the AMD’s website and the candidates will have to choose one of the listed topics. If the concerned university/institution has suggested other topic on the preferred list will also be considered on the relevance of the work to AMD.

The minimum duration of the project work will be 8 weeks. A minimum of 4 weeks will be devoted to the field oriented [project work and an additional minimum of 4 weeks for laboratory investigations.

AMD Internship 2017 Project Report


The candidates will have to submit a project/dissertation report to the university/institution after completing the project work. The students and the universities will have to follow the AMD’s Project Report Manual of Style and guideline for preparation of the report. A soft copy of the completed report has to be submitted in PDF format as a single file.
