The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test is conducted by CBSE for admission to MBBS and BDS program in:
- Medical Colleges approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
- Dental Colleges approved by the Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
NEET score is not accepted for MBBS admission in AIIMS and JIPMER. All the seven AIIMS Institutes in the country will take MBBS admission on the basis of AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam.

- The NEET examination is scheduled to be held in six additional languages for the session 2017-18, a statement from the Union Health Ministry official confirmed it.
- The 6 languages of the examination are Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu and Tamil apart from conventional English, Hindi. NEET 2017 possibly to be held in regional languages
