Finally, the news that all the JEE Main 2017 aspirants were waiting for is here. According to the latest information, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) is set to come up with a scholarship scheme for meritorious candidates in JEE Main 2017. However, the MHRD Scholarship for JEE Toppers is being reviewed and not official.
MHRD Scholarship Details
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) hasn’t yet declared a particular timeline or date to launch the scholarship but separate instructions related to this scheme is expected to be issued in due course of time. This scholarship program will be for meritorious students who secure All India Ranks up to 2000.
This news is the breath of relief for the students who were facing economic challenges after getting admission in Engineering Programs. Last year, over 13 lakh students appeared for JEE Mains entrance examination which means JEE Main exam is one of the largest entrance exams across the world.
These numbers indicate that engineering courses is the most popular undergraduate courses in India in the years to come but the problem is that many students get confuse to choose the right engineering colleges after clearing JEE Mains and if they get the college of their choice (after struggling a lot), they find the fees and other expenses of that college sky high. So the scholarship scheme announced by MHRD will help a lot to the students who are academically brilliant but can hardly afford further education.
JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination) is conducted by CBSE for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs in NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), participating State Government Institutions and several other Institutions. A national level examination, JEE Main is scheduled to be held on two dates for separate test modes.
