Jawaharlal Nehru University, also called JNU, will be now conducting its entrance examinations for admission into its UG, PG, Certificate, PhD programs from the usual period May-June to December. The JNU Entrance Examinations for academic session 2018-19 will be conducted in December this year. The university is finally confirming the move after the proposal was put forward in University’s Academic Council (AC) meeting and it was approved at a Standing Committee meeting.
Earlier, the decision was not being taken because it had been put on hold to study its feasibility. JNU VC M.Jagadesh Kumar confirmed the news and said that the entrance examinations for admission 2018 will be conducted in December this year. He said a committee has been formed to find modalities to conduct the entrance examinations in December. He also added we are implementing the proposal which has received an approval in University’s Standing Committee meeting. He also pointed that JNU was trying to fill all vacant seat along with faculties in MPhil and PhD courses in December.
"We are also asking the centres to tell us about the vacancies available with each teacher. Once we receive the information, it will be put on the prospectus. It is the responsibility of the centres to inform us about the vacancies," he said. The administration has already started writing to each centre, JNU VC M.Jagadesh Kumar added.
Entrance examinations for various admission 2017 in various UG, PG, MPhil, Certificate and PhD courses was conducted from 16 May to 19 May this year. (Read: JNU Result will be declared in July)
