IIT Introduced New Changes in the Admission Criteria of JEE Advanced 2016. JEE Main has just concluded and the results have been declared, but there have been some unprecedented changes introduced by the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) in the advanced level of the exam.

  • JEE Advanced 2016 will be conducted on May 22, 2016. 
  • For the Year 2016, JEE Advanced will be conducted in 16 more examination centres.

The Indian Institute of Technology is on a revamp mode and they are bringing newer and optimistic proposals for implementation in the JEE Advanced level.

New Line of Admission to four IITs Campus Cutting Across Four States

From the academic year 2016-17, four new IITs will be taking admissions on the basis of JEE Advanced. The new IITs that will witness a fresh footfall of students aspiring to become the future change makers are:

  • IIT-Chhattisgarh
  • IIT-Goa
  • IIT-Jammu
  • IIT-Karnataka

After discussion with the Human Resource and Development Ministry of India, the Indian Institute of Technology will go for a rapid transformation this year with the following changes on the academic platter. Here are some of the changes in JEE advanced 2016:

Gender Restriction in Mining Engineering Profession

Mining to go womanless: As per the 'Mine Act' no woman can be employed in mines which require them to work below the ground, however, they can be employed for above the ground mining jobs only in between 6:00 hours to 19:00 hours.  

Now female candidate can also pursue Mining Engineering and Mining Machinery Engineering or some other related courses from ISM Dhanbad, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT BHU.

Open Seats for OCI/PIO

For the very first time, the applicants who are applying under OCI/ PIO will be considered under the general category and they can apply for the general seats as well. It is required by the OCI/PIO’s to upload their OCI and PIO’s certificates.

IIT in Top Emerging Institutes among Developing Nations

At 29th Spot, the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay stood firm followed by its counterpart Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Indian Institute of Science has occupied 16th spot in the ranking and it has also been observed as one of the best institutes in the world.
