HRD ministry considering to set up a body to conduct Entrance Tests. The ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) is planning to set up a special body who can conduct all entrance examinations such as National Eligibility Test (NET), JEE main, NEET etc which is currently conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

According to the media source, this body will have subject matter expert members and this specialised body will conduct all examinations online only. This body will be based on Educational Testing System (ETS) of the USA which conducts tests on high level globally. All non-school entrance examination will be conducted by this new Body once formed and it will relief the CBSE from extra pressure of these examinations so the CBSE can focus only on its core activities. CBSE will conduct all these examinations until this new body will form. HRD minister Prakash Javadekar is directing the ministry to find ways to setting up the National Testing Service (NTS) to help standardise the tests which might help the candidates by providing timely exam, online testing, and results. In the past, these tests have been delayed for months.

One month ago the CBSE pointed concerns over conducting these examinations consume a lot of time and the CBSE said just because of that the body was not able to focus on core activities related to affiliation and conducting its own examinations.
