Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE), after getting approval from the state Chief Minister, will be joining CUCET 2017 (Central Universities Common Entrance Test) for admission to its various programmes, which will now be conducted on the basis of the CUCET Scores. An official announcement has been made on the official website of Central Universities Common Entrance Test which says Bengaluru Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) join CUCET 2017. CUCET 2017 - Central Universities Common Test
Earlier, the Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah has given a back to establishing a School of Economics in Bengaluru and also portrayed the approval as a significant achievement in higher education sector in India. The school named B.R.Ambedkar School of Economics” (BASE) will be modelled on the lines of LSE (London School of Economics). The Karnataka Chief Minister said that by associating with London School of Economics, the Karnataka government will build a world-class’ university. The University base will come up on a 43-acre plot on the Jnanabharathi campus and will be functioning under Bangalore University till it becomes an autonomous university in a few years. All the officers in Bangalore University will also be officers for BASE.
“Failure of our public universities is largely attributable to out-dated curriculum and faculty.BASE must build an institution with a world-class process and adopt innovative teaching-learning methodology" Suma M Singh, Head of the Economics Department at Mount Carmel College said.
The University will begin all academic process itself for this year. Admission into the programs offered at BASE will be done through Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) 2017. About CUCET 2017
Central Universities Common Entrance Test also is known as CUCET is and all India basis entrance test conducted for admission in 9 Central Universities into their more than 320 undergraduate, post graduate, research and integrated programs. The application process for admission 2017 has been started on 20 march and the eligible candidates can submit the application form online until 14 April 2017. CUCET is conducted by the Central University of Rajasthan and the following Universities come under the CUCET:
