CBSE 10th Board exam mayis going to restart from 2018. HRD Minister Prakash Javedekar will discuss the matter with the education ministers of states and central minsters today i.e. October 25, 2016. Evaluation system and sought to lighten the burden of writing stressful examinations. As per this system, Class 10th students need to appear for six examinations only-  four formative assessments and two summative assessments. Some of the reasons for reintroduction of Class 10 board exams:

  • Number of drop-outs has reduced.
  • Scrapping away the exam affected the academic standards.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning a big change in their education system. As we know CBSE decided to end 10th Board exam earlier. CBSE chairman Rajesh Chaturvedi has confirmed that class 10th board exam is going to revive from the year 2018. He sad we are doing it because opinion rapidly increasing in the favour of reviving 10th Board exam.

He said we cannot make plan to do it in the year 2017 because we have lack of Time but we will certainly take ahead our plan to reviving 10th Board exam from the year 2018. It is very important to make plan like this in terms of Improvement of quality education. Under the 2009 Right to Education Act, CBSE introduced a Continuous and Comprehensive.

CBSE to introduce No-detention policy

  • As per the latest reports, the education minster will also announce 'no-detention' policy, wherein students will be promoted to class 5.
  • Thereafter, the states can devise this alternative till class 8. If a student fails, the opportunity of a 're-test' should be given to them.
  • The Board has decided to discontinue the re-evaluation of answer scripts.

Rajesh Chaturvedi said we will take this matter to the next Education Ministers Conference and we will talk to ICSE and State Boards in the direction of Human Resource Development ministry (MHRD). The chairman said there is also a growing need for Uniform mechanism for recruitment of Teachers. At present time, appointments are made as per suitability and convenience. We are working as we feel need for uniform mechanism.

According the chairman, CBSE will also plan the best training of secondary and higher secondary teachers. He said we will include experts like Anand Kumar of super 30 in this purpose. Chaturvedi said the CBSE had strengthened the affiliation norms and was working for eliminate standard schools. On growing commercialization of school education, he said that it was very important for State Boards to work on improvements in the quality of Government schools.
