JAM 2018 Complete Details

IIT JAM Result 2018 is declared on 20 March 2018 on the official website of JAM. The direct link to JAM Result is available on this page below. The JAM examination was conducted on 11 February 2018 for admission in Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institute of Science. The merit list is prepared after the declaration of JAM Result. For each test paper, an All India Merit list is prepared on the basis of AIR. Candidates can scroll the page to check the JAM Result 2018. The students can check the marks secured by them in the JAM Exam.The final answer keys of IIT JAM has been released and the result is completely based on that.

The candidates can view their Results after logging on to the JOAPS Portal.

After the result, the candidates have to fill the admission form for admission in IITs and IISc Bangalore.Only the qualified candidates can fill the admission form.

IIT JAM Score Card Indicating Marks and All India Rank is available from 27 March.

There were seven papers for IIT JAM and a merit list will be prepared separately for each paper.
Integrated PhD programmes in Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences & Biological Sciences at IISc Bangalore will use the JAM results to shortlist the candidates for final selection.

JAM 2018 Merit List

The JAM 2018 Merit List will be prepared on 20 March 2018 and will be available on this page. The All India Merit List will be prepared on the basis of AIR for each test paper and Admission to most of the Academic Programmes at various institutes will be made on the basis of Rank in JAM 2018. The number of candidates included in the All India Merit List will depend on the total number of seats available in each category(OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD) in a given subject. The qualified candidates will be eligible to apply for admission to any of the corresponding academic programmes available at IITs and IISc.

JAM 2018 Selection Criteria

The selection of candidates will be based on the JAM merit list. The merit list will be prepared after the declaration of JAM Result. The candidates should know that the merit lists will be prepared separately for each category i.e. the merit list will be prepared for the General, OBC Non-Creamy Layer, SC, ST and PwD category candidates. The number of category-wise candidates included in the All India Merit List will be based on the category declared by the candidates in their application.

Tie Breaking in case of similar JAM Result 2018

The tie-breaking criterion for awarding the ranks to candidates scoring the same aggregate marks in a test paper will be as follows:

The candidate with a higher ratio of positive marks to negative marks will be given a higher rank.
If this criterion fails to break ties, the candidates concerned will be awarded the same rank.
