Guwahati College of Architecture is established by DONA Foundation in the year of 2006. This institution offers architecture courses for the undergraduate & postgraduate level. This college is approved by Council of Architecture New Delhi and Higher and Technical Education, Government of Assam, affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University, and academically supported by Architectural Department of CEPT University.

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) Guwahati College of Architecture (GCA) offers five-year degree program of B.Arch, which is recognised by the Council of Architecture. This architectural degree program is divided into ten semesters. Bachelor of Architecture program incorporates Design and Planning, Arts and Humanities, Science and Technologies, Practice and Management components. Candidates also undertake practical training during their 10th semester.

The Bachelor of Architecture Degree course also includes the following computer courses in Architecture (included in the curriculum):

• Autocad 7 & 9
• Photoshop
• Google Sketch Up
• 3D Max
• Revit

• Candidates should have clear their Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) with Mathematics as a compulsory subject, or two or three-year diplomas in (any stream) recognised by the Central or State Government. Including NATA and CAT score.
• Candidates must obtain 50% marks in the qualifying examination and 50% marks in aptitude test to get their name in the merit list.

Steps to fill Guwahati College of Architecture Application Form

STEP 1: Candidates have to select the course in which they want to get admission.

STEP 2: Candidates have to fill their general details such as Name, DOB, Gender, Address, Contact No. etc.

STEP 3: Candidates must fill their academic details of Class 10 and Class 12 such as Name of Board, Passing Year, Subjects, Obtained Marks, etc.

STEP 4: After submitting all detail in the application form candidates have to click on the “Submit” button for final submission.

Submission of Application Form

The application form of Guwahati College of Architecture for B.Arch course can be submitted through both online and offline mode. The last date for submission of applications shall be notified on the college notice board. The merit list and waiting list shall be announced 15 days after the last date for submission of application. 

The candidates have to pay the application fee of Rs 500 for the application form, The fee is to be paid via Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking. The candidates are required to pay the institution fee after their successful admission as per the table is given below.

One Time Fee for Guwahati College of Architecture Admission

The selection of candidates is based on aptitude test score and NATA. Candidates have to get 50 % marks in the aptitude test for admission in B.Arch program of Guwahati College of Architecture. After the declaration of Aptitude Test Result, Merit list will be prepared. Candidate, whose name in the merit list, will be called for the counselling process.

NATA 2017 Exam is in English Languages and is divided into two parts that are the Drawing Test and Aesthetic Sensitivity Test.

Drawing Test

It is a 90 minutes exam, where the candidate has to attempt two questions.

The Question Paper for previous are not available as each student gets a unique question paper and thus, no specific question paper is available. There are some NATA Books given on this page and student can buy them to practice questions of NATA.

The drawing aptitude is judged on the following aspects 

• Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner.
• Visualising and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings.
• The sense of perspective drawing.
• Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form.
• Creating the interesting two-dimensional composition using given shapes and forms.
• Creating visual harmony using colours in given composition.
• Understanding of scale and proportions.
• Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences.
