About DU B.Ed Admission

DU B.Ed Admission 2018 will be done on the basis of a pen & paper based written entrance test. The entrance test for admission in BEd course in Delhi University will be held on 18 June 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Along with the BEd, the university also offers the B.Ed. Special Education (Visual Impairment) and B.Ed. Special Education (Mental Retardation). B.Ed is a two-year full-time program offered by 4 Colleges (CIE, LIC, MVCE and SPMC) under Department of Education (Central Institute of Education), University of Delhi (DU). The eligible candidates who want to pursue a career in teaching can apply online to appear in the written entrance test for DU B.Ed Admission 2018. The candidates can pursue B.Ed program in the following subjects:

  • Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology Mathematics, Home Science, Integrated Science)
  • Languages (Sanskrit, Hindi, English)
  • Social Sciences (History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Social Science)
  • Other Subjects (Commerce / Psychology / Sociology)
  • Other Languages (Punjabi / Urdu)

DU B.Ed Admission Eligibility criteria

The candidates seeking admission in DU B.Ed program must fulfil both Part A and Part B of the eligibility qualifications:

A Minimum Qualifying Marks

  • Category 1: the candidates who have secured at least 50% aggregate marks either in bachelor’s degree or in the master’s degree in any of the subject Science, Humanities, Commerce, Social Science or other equivalent qualification are eligible to apply for admission in DU B. Ed program.
  • Category 2: The candidates passed in bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology and specialisation in Science or Mathematics or any other equivalent qualification with minimum 55% marks are eligible to apply for admission in B. Ed program offered at DU.

B. Eligibility for Choosing Teaching Subject

  • The candidates going to apply will have to choose only one teaching subject (within a subject category) from Table 1 which they must have studied in the qualifying degree program for at least 200 marks and must have secured 50% marks in the subject. The subject opted by the candidates in the application form will be considered as the teaching subject in the B.Ed. program.

Relaxation in Percentage Marks

  • The minimum eligibility for the candidates belongs to SC/St category is that they must be passed in the qualifying examination; there are no percentage marks required for them. The candidates belonging to OBC, Children/Widows/Wives of Armed Personnel, including Para-Military Personnel, killed/disabled in Action, PWD will have 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks. The candidates will have to select teaching subjects from the list given in the table below:

Note: The candidates choosing Sociology, Psychology or Commerce as teaching subject must have completed Post graduation in the respective subject.

DU B.Ed Admission Application form and Admit Card

The candidates who want to appear in the entrance examination for admission in the DU B.Ed program, have to submit an application form on or before the last date. The last date to fill the application form is 7 June 2018 (11:59 PM). It is to be known to the candidates that this year, there is a common portal to apply for admission in merit as well as entrance based. The candidates seeking admission in DU BEd are suggested to follow the link given below.

Steps to fill the application form for admission in DU (BEd course)

  • STEP 1: First, the candidates have to visit the DU PG Admissions Portal link directly of by clicking the link given on this page.
  • STEP 2: The candidates have to read the instruction before filling the application form because after the submission the candidates will not be able to change any information provided in the application form.
  • STEP 3: The candidates belonging to the reserved category such as OBC, SC, ST, PWD & CW are required to read the category guideline given there.
  • STEP 4: Now the candidates have to register themselves by providing contact details, personal details and have to enter the verification code given there. Thereafter, the candidates have to click register button given there.
  • STEP 5: On successful submission of registration form, a confirmation email with a verification link will be sent to the candidates' email id and the candidates have to verify themselves by following the link.
  • STEP 6: Now the candidates have to apply for DU B. Ed Admission 2018. The candidates have to now enter their basic personal details, education qualification, contact details. Now the candidates have to select teaching subject and place of examination.
  • STEP 7: Now the candidates have to upload the scanned image of following documents:
    • Passport size photograph, max size 50KB and dimensions 100px (min. width) X 130px (min. height)
    • Signature, max size 50KB and dimensions 140px (min. width) X 60px (min. height)
    • Class 10th Certificate (Self Attested) as Date of Birth proof, max size 100KB.
    • Caste Certificate (Self Attested) (If Applicable), max size 100KB.
    • PWD Certificate (Self Attested) (If Applicable), max size 100KB.
    • CW Certificate (Self Attested) (If Applicable), max size 100KB.
    • Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Voter's Identity Card, Passport, College Identity Card.
    • ID Proof (Self Attested), max size 100KB
  • STEP 8: Now the candidates have to make payment of the application form of DU B. Ed application form using online mode of payment such as credit card, debit card or internet banking. The candidates cannot make payment through mode offline

Application Submission

Once the DU The candidates can fill and submit the DU B. Ed application form only through online mode. If any of the candidates have submitted the multiple application, then he/ she can retain one correct form and cancel the rests. After submission of the application form, the candidates will have to take a print out of it because it will be used for future references.

DU B.Ed Admit Card 2018


The candidates after having submitted online application form successfully will only be eligible to download the DU B. Ed Admit Card 2018. The candidates will have to download their Admit Card after closing date of application. The Admit Card would be obtained only through online mode by logging in the registration account, it will not be sent via postal mode. in order to verify the Candidate’s signature, the candidates will have to sign on the Admit Card in front of the invigilator during the Entrance Examination.

The candidates who qualify in the entrance examination will be selected for admission to the B.Ed. The program offered by 4 institutions will have to pay the course fee at the time of admission. The candidates have to pay an approximate annual fee as per the table is given below:

DU B.Ed Admission Result and Counselling

  • DU B. Ed Admission 2018 would be based on a Written Entrance Test of 400 marks. The candidates applied successfully will have to appear in the entrance exam. A merit will be prepared on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the Written Test. There will be one common written entrance test for each subject students.
  • On the basis of the performance in the entrance test, a merit list of each category will be displayed on the official website. Displaying of the name of the candidates in merit list does not indicate the final selection for admission. The candidates are advised to visit the official website or our website for regular updates on DU B. Ed Admission 2018.
  • In a case of a tie, the University of Delhi rules will be applied.

Documents to Submitted at the Time of DU B.Ed Admission


The candidates finally selected for admission will have to carry the following documents at the stipulated date and time:

  • Photo ID Proof
  • Print out of Application Form
  • Admit Card of Entrance Test
  • Two latest passport size photographs
  • Original and 2 sets of photocopies of relevant documents mentioned below:
    • High School/Secondary School Certificate for verification of date of birth.
    • A detailed Statement of Marks in Graduation Parts - I, II, III and in the case of Postgraduates and also the Master's Degree Statement of Marks.
    • Provisional certificate or degree of the qualifying examination.
    • Relevant certificates/documents from a competent authority, establishing the candidate’s claim for reservation (for the candidates belonging to reserved categories).
    • Character Certificate from the institution last attended or any gazetted officer (valid for six months from the date of issue).
    • In the case of candidates in service, a No Objection Certificate from the employer and a letter of sanction of study leave for a period of two years.

DU B.Ed Admission Exam pattern

The candidates appearing in the DU B. Ed Admission 2018 written entrance test will have to follow the following exam pattern:

  • Type of Exam: Pen & Paper based written test
  • Total Number of Marks: 400
  • Total Duration of Entrance Exam: 2 hours
  • Type of Questions: Objective type
  • Total Number of Questions: 100
  • Language of the Paper: Both Hindi and English
  • Marking Scheme: 4 Marks for each correct answer
  • Negative Marking: Yes, 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
