After the declaration of the NEET result, the CBSE will forward the merit list of the candidates to the Directorate of Medical Education Research (DMER), Maharashtra. Earlier, each state conducted its own examination for the admission in medical colleges likewise Maharashtra Government conducted MHT CET. But from the year 2016 onwards, the NEET has become the only exam to be conducted in India.

Age- The applicant must be born on or before 31 December 2000, And must be the citizen of India/NRI/OCI/PIO eligible.
Academic Requirements - The candidates applying for the admission into medical courses of Maharashtra must have passed the SSC/ Junior College/ School with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects
Eligible Entrance Exam: A candidate belonging to open category must secure not less than 50 percentile marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together at NEET UG-2017. Constitutional reservation with Person with disability claim must secure not less than 40 percentile marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together in the NEET UG - 2017.
The admission of the candidates in the medical and dental colleges of Maharashtra will be done by Directorate of Medical Education Research (DMER), Maharashtra. The admission is strictly based on NEET. Therefore, the candidates seeking for the admission must have a NEET score. The candidates also need to fill the Maharashtra application form. The candidates have to register for the MBBS Admission in Maharashtra by paying the (Non-Refundable) application fee of Rs 1000 for appearing in the counselling process conducted by the DMER. The Candidate shall Pay by Challan at Sate Bank of India of Rs 1,000 + Rs. 60 Bank Charges (One Thousand SixtyOnly).

The merit list of Maharashtra MBBS BDS Admission 2017 has been released on 25 July 2017. Admissions to state quota seats in the state of Maharashtra will be done on the basis of NEET scores. Candidates whose name will appear in Maharashtra MBBS BDS 2017 merit list will only be eligible to appear in the counselling process as per the allotted rank.
No communication regarding the release of Maharashtra MBBS BDS 2017 merit list will be sent to candidates individually. Maharashtra MBBS BDS 2017 merit list will consist of candidate name, All India Rank and Percentile etc. After the release of the merit list, the candidates will be called for the counselling process. The selection & vacant seat lists of NEET UG - CET 2017 has released on 28 July 2017. Those candidates who having (*) mark before their name should report to the college mentioned before their names and submit the photocopy of domicile certificate within 3 days i.e. till 31 July 2017. The photocopy of domicile certificate will be sent by the college to the respective appropriate issuing authority for verification. The Directorate of Medical Education Research (DMER), Maharashtra is liable to do the seat allotment to MBBS and BDS seats under 85% state quota. The seat allotment will be done through offline counselling for the government, private and deemed universities.

In the third round of the counselling for MBBD BDS Admission in Maharashtra, All India Quota Sets will be returned to state quota seats on 18 August 2017. All these seats (described below) will be available for third round along with following seats (MBBS/BDS).
