About BHU PAT

BHU PAT 2017 is an entrance exam for admission to BAMS, B. Pharm and BNYS course. The Banaras Hindu University will conduct BU PAT on 16 July 2017 (Sunday). The application process has been started, and the candidates can apply for the BHU PAT 2017 through online mode by submitting the application form before 31 May 2017. Candidates are suggested to scroll down for the complete information about BHU PAT.

  • BHU PAT will be conducted only at the Varanasi Centre.

Banaras Hindu University is one of the most prestigious central universities of the country. The Ayurvedic Education in Banaras Hindu University was started in the year 1920 in the section of the Ayurvedic under the Faculty of Oriental Learning and Theology. BHU PAT Eligibility criteria

Age: The minimum age requirement of the candidate is 17 years, and the maximum age requirement of the candidate is 25 years as on 31 July 2017 to be eligible for the entrance test.

Nationality: The candidates willing to appear in the BHU PAT should be an Indian national

Academic Qualification: The candidates who have passed the Intermediate Science or Pre-Medical Course/ 12 years 10+2 examination or equivalent examination of recognised Indian University or Board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English are eligible to appear in BHU PAT.

  • The candidates must not obtain less than 50% of the total marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination.
  • For the candidates belonging to the scheduled caste and scheduled tribes, they need to score minimum 40% in the qualifying examination.

BHU PAT Application form and Admit Card

The application process for the BHU PAT has been started by the Banaras Hindu University Institute of Medical Science under the Faculty of Ayurveda. The last date to apply for the BHU PAT is 31 May 2017.Therefore, the candidates are advised to fill the application form on or before the due date.

Steps to Fill the BHU PAT Application Form

The steps and the instructions to fill the application form is provided to the candidates. The candidates are suggested to follow the steps given below which will help them to ignore the mistakes and error while filling the form. The candidates can fill the application form in two simple steps.

STEP 1 - Registration and Form Filling

First of all, the candidates have to register themselves through the link given above by providing the valid email id. After that, the candidates have to follow the instructions given by the web page for filling the online application form

STEP 2 - Payment and Submission

After filling the BHU PAT application form correctly, the candidates need to make the payment of the application fee. To make the payment, the candidates are advised to follow the guidelines and instructions given on the web page. After payment of the application fee, the candidates need to submit the application form.

Payment of the BHU PAT Application Form

The candidates do have two options to make the payment of the BHU PAT application fee. The two of the methods are described below. The candidates need to pay the application fee only once.

  • Online Mode: The first mode to make the payment of the application fee is the online mode in which the candidates can pay the fee through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.
  • Offline Mode: The second option to make the payment of the application fee is through challan mode. The candidate who does not have or want to pay the fee through online facility may deposit the fees through challan.

Submission of Application Form

Candidates are advised to check the details of the application form and then make the final submission as the candidates need to know that once the application gets submitted, the candidates will not be able to change the details of the application form

After the successful submission of the application form, the candidates are also advised to keep at least two printouts of the application form with them for future reference.

BHU PAT Admit Card 2017

BHU PAT Admit Card will be available on the official website only for those eligible candidates who have submitted their duly filled application forms before the due date. The admit card will also be mailed to the candidates on their registered email id.

Candidates are advised to check the details such as the name of the students, exam centre, exam dates etc. on the printed admit card. if any candidate comes across any of the issues like misspelt name, exam centre not specified or the choice of the subjects not clearly mentioned, they can report to the authorities immediately

BHU PAT Fees

BHU PAT Application Fee- The candidates need to pay the application fee against the BHU PAT application form.The fee amount for the different categories is given in the table below.

BHU PAT Result and Counselling

The Banaras Hindu University, Institute of Medical Science has declared the BHU PAT result on 31 July 2017. The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the merit list which will be prepared by the university itself on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates. After the preparation of the merit list, the university will start the selection process.

Selection Process for the Admission in BHU

Candidates will be selected in order of merit on the basis of the aggregate marks secured at the BHU PAT 2017. The minimum qualifying marks will be different which will be based on the category wise.

The selected candidates shall be required to appear personally to the Admission Committee for counselling/ interview. The decision of university for selecting the candidates will be final, and no objection will be contemplated at any circumstances.

If the candidates score equal marks in BHU PAT

  • In case of candidates obtaining equal marks in the BHU PAT then the merit list will be decided as per the following method:
    • Marks obtained by the candidate in the Zoology Subject in qualifying examination.
    • Marks obtained by the candidate in the Botany Subject in qualifying examination.
    • Marks obtained by the candidate in the Chemistry Subject in qualifying examination
    • Marks obtained by the candidate in the Physics Subject in qualifying examination.
    • The date of birth i.e. the candidate senior in the age would rank higher.

BHU PAT Exam pattern

  • No. of Questions: 200
  • Medium of question paper: English and Hindi
  • Duration of the exam: 3 hours
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions. 
  • Marking Scheme: One mark will be awarded for every correct answer. 
  • Negative marking: There will be no negative marking. 

BHU PAT Syllabus- The standard of BHU PAT 2017 will be widely based on that of 10+2 course or equivalent as laid down by Central Board of Secondary Education/ Intermediate Science of state Boards or its equivalent.

BHU PAT Important details

There are total 60 seats reserved for BAMS course and 30 seats are reserved for the B.Pharm/ BNYS as per the approval of the Central Council of Indian Medicine and AYUSH Department. The distribution of the seats as per the category for each course is given in the table below.

Physically Challenged Candidates

The Physically Challenged (PC) candidates who will qualify in BHU PAT will have to get themselves certified at one of the following Disability Assessment Boards constituted at four metro cities;
