GITAM University BSc Nursing Admission - GNAT 2018

GITAM University BSc Admission - GNAT 2018 will be conducted by the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management. GNAT is also known as GITAM Nursing Admission Test that will be conducted for GITAM University BSc Nursing Admission. Only female candidates are eligible to apply for the course. GNAT Registration and Submission of the application form will be conducted through both online and offline mode. Candidates have to fill and submit the application form for GNAT 2018 on or before the due date.

• BSc in Nursing from GITAM University will be a full-time 4-year course that includes the internship period. The School of Nursing is located on the main campus at GITAM University, Visakhapatnam.
• GITAM GNAT will be going to held in the last week of August 2018. However, counselling for the same will commence from September 2018.

GITAM University BSc Nursing Seats

There are in all 100 seats in GITAM University for the BSc Nursing Course. The course is only open to female candidates

Age: BSc Nursing program invites applications from only Female candidates who are 17 years of age as on 31 December 2018, should not be more than 25 years as on 31st December 2018.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed class 10+2 in Medical Stream with minimum 45% marks in aggregate. Candidates must have studied Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Zoology, and English Core as the main subjects. Intermediate Vocational Nursing with Bridge course of Biological & Physical Sciences with minimum marks of 45%.

Affiliation of Institute/School: Candidates school/Institute must be recognized by the AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE//SSCE/HSCE or any other equivalent board. Candidates of the National Institute of Open School are also eligible to apply with minimum 45% Aggregate marks.

GITAM GNAT Admit Card

GNAT Admit cards will be available online only, when available, the candidates have to download the admit cards. The GNAT Admit Card will be available to download online after the Registration process closes. Candidates can download their GITAM GNAT Hall Ticket/Admit Card from the third week of August 2018. If any candidate's admit card is not published on the website they have to immediately contact the given below contact details using their application number.

*There is a hostel facility for girls in the campus; the candidates have to pay the hostel fee in addition if they choose to live in the hostel.

Candidates have to pay the Tuition fees for the 1^st Year of the BSc Nursing Course at the time of the admission at the counselling centre. Tuition fee can be paid through one of then following modes: 

• Demand Draft: Demand Drafts must be drawn in favor of GITAM Institute of Nursing (College Receipts) payable at Visakhapatnam.
• RTGS Payment: The tuition fee also can be paid by mode of RTGS into the account of “GITAM Institute of Nursing (College Receipts)”, Account No. 761302010000151, Union Bank of India, GIMSR branch (IFS Code: UBIN0576131), Visakhapatnam.
• Please note that application fees cannot be paid in Cash or via Cheques.

GITAM University Scholarship

GITAM University grants the scholarships and financial assistance in which 100% to 50% of the tuition fees of the meritorious candidate is waived off, the financial assistance is only given to the applicants who have scored merit in the GNAT Exam.

Scholarships: Merit-cum-means scholarships will be awarded to 5% of students @ Rs. 2,000/- per month depending upon the merit of the student and income of the parent.

GNAT Result for the GNAT Exam will be declared in the form of the merit list on the official website in the last week of August 2018. Merit list of the selected candidates will be based on the GNAT Scores of the candidates. The result will be in the form of a merit list and the seats will be allotted based on counselling and the details are given here.

GITAM BSc Nursing Counseling

Only shortlisted meritorious candidates based on their GNAT result will be called for the counselling at the GITAM University, Visakhapatnam Campus from September 2018. Call letters will be issued to the shortlisted candidates for the GNAT counselling process; Candidates have to reach the counselling venue at 9:00 AM. It is mandatory for all candidates to be physically present for counselling.

Documents required on Counselling Day

• Counselling Call Letter issued by GITAM University.
• DOB Proof – SSC or Equivalent Certificate/Birth Certificate issued by Municipal Corporation/Revenue office indicating name and date of birth of the candidate.
• Pass certificate and Statement of marks of Intermediate / 10+2 examination from a recognized Central / State / AISSCE / SSCE/ HSCE / National Institute of Open School or other equivalent Board.
• Transfer and Conduct Certificate
• Migration Certificate
• Recent passport size photograph (front pose) 6 copies
• One set of self-attested photocopies of all the certificates
• Identity Proof (Aadhar card)
• Physical fitness certificate obtained from Govt. Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Medical Officer

GITAM GNAT will be an offline exam i.e. pen and paper-based that will be conducted at the 3 Test centres in Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, and Bengaluru. The candidates will be served with the 100 objective type questions with general difficulty of class 12 and less.

GNAT Exam: Resolving Ties

GNAT Exam Ties will be resolved via the given below series of the conditions, The following series will be adopted in given below order to break the ties.

1. Biology: Higher scores in Biology (Botany & Zoology) will result in higher ranking.
2. Chemistry: If Biology scores do not break the tie, higher scores in Chemistry will result in higher ranking.
3. Physics: If Biology and Chemistry scores do not break the tie, higher scores in Physics will result in higher ranking.
4. Age: If Biology, Chemistry and Physics scores do not break the tie, the candidate elder by age will be ranked higher.
