• Visva Bharati University invites applications for B.Design course (Code: 606). It is a 4 years course (8 semesters) and is taught at Silpa-Sadana, a Department under Palli Samgathana Vibhaga at Sriniketan.

Visva Bharati University B.Design Course

• B.Design Course is a 4 years course (8 semesters) and is taught at Shilp Sadana, Department under Palli Samgathana Vibhaga, Visva Bharati University Campus.
• No. of Seats at Shilp Sadana - 36 seats

• For admission to B.Design Undergraduate course, Written aptitude test is conducted by the University.
• Students who have got admission in Undergraduate Course will be required to study Compulsory Foundation Courses on Tagore Studies and Environmental Studies (Eight credit each, divided into two semester).

B.Design Course Eligibility Criteria

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:

• Candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks. (In case of OBC/SC/ST candidates the marks are applicable as per rules)
• Candidate must have passed in each of the concerned subjects opted in Class 12 or equivalent examination.
  • Candidates appearing at the qualifying exam can also apply.

OR

• Candidate must have passed Three years Diploma with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. (45% in case of OBC)
  • SC/ST candidates: For SC/ST candidates, there will be no minimum aggregate percentage of marks in the Three Year Diploma except that they must have passed the qualifying examination.

AGE:  

• Candidate should not be more than 25 years on July 1, 2015.

Kindly Note: Candidates who have passed the qualifying public examinations during last five years (including the current year) will only be considered while seeking admission to Bachelors / Masters Degree courses. Foreign students, however, are exempted

B.Design Application Process

The candidates can apply for Visva Bharati University 2015 ONLY online. There is NO offline Process of filling the Visva Bharati University Application Form 2015. 

Online Mode: Candidates may apply through online mode by visiting the official website. The candidates have to fill the Visva Bharati University Application Form 2015 as per the procedure provided.

Two Simple Steps for Application Process

Step 1: Registration: Online Registration for admission to Undergraduate Courses will begin from May 10, 2015 and will continue till June 15, 2015

Step 2: Application Form Filling: Application Form can be filled from May 17, 2015 to June 15, 2015.

Photograph and Signature: Candidates have to upload their recent scanned photograph (Size: 4 cm x 3 cm) and signature.

Be Careful while filling in the marks obtained in the last qualifying examinations because the final merit list will be prepared on the basis of that.

Submission of Application Form

Candidates have to apply Online. Therefore they are not required to send any hard copy of Confirmation Page or any other document to the Department Concerned. Candidates have to keep a copy of the computer generated filled in application form for their own use.

Admission Test Centres

Admission Tests for the courses (wherever applicable) will be conducted at Santiniketan and Sriniketan. The dates and venues, will be notified on the University website and Bhavana Notice Board.

Mode 1: Online: Candidates can pay the application fee online via Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, Cash Card, Payment through mobiles.

Mode 2: Deposit the Fees in the University Bank Account : Candidates can deposit the required amount at any branch of United Bank of India (UBI) using a Bank Deposit Voucher / Challan into the following account :

B.Design Selection Process

• Admissions will be solely done on the basis of merit, subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements and availability of seats in the particular Course for which the candidate has applied for.
• Qualifying Marks in the Admission Test: For admission general category candidates are required to secure 30% marks and 27% in case of OBC candidates. There shall be no eligibility marks in case of SC/ST candidates
• The University will release the B.Design (Silpa Sadan) Merit List, 2 weeks after the conduct of the admission test along with the Wait list. 

There will be a written aptitude test of 100 Marks.
