UPCAT Dental 2016 - Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test for admissions to BDS programme is a national level dental entrance examination stand cancelled because as of now the NEET is a common exam conducted for admission into government and private medical colleges in India. So from now onwards NEET UG scores will be counted for admission into five years BDS programmes in the academic session 2016-17 and offer admission to 21 private dental colleges in the state. This is an all India exam, and there is no domicile clause for appearing in the dental entrance exam.

• Association of Private Medical and Dental  Colleges of U.P. will conduct the U.P. Combined Admission Test as per the guidelines of  Hon'ble high court of  U.P.  for BDS admission in Uttar Pradesh

• UPCAT Dental Entrance Exam  Dates: UPCAT Dental Entrance Exam will be conducted by Association of Private Medical and Dental  Colleges of U.P on May 15, 2016, from 2 pm to 5 pm   
  
• UPCAT Application Process has started and the last date to apply is April 30, 2016. Candidates will be able to apply Online at the official website. 
• UPCAT 2016 Application form can be obtained from all participating Dental colleges of U.P. against payment of Rs. 1,500.

UPCAT Participating Dental Colleges 2016

• Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course is 4 years + 1-year compulsory internship course  which is run under the aegis of Dental Council of India.

UPCAT Dental 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Age: The candidate should have attained the age of 17 years on or before 31 December, of the year of admission to the BDS course.

UPCAT is an All India Exam

• UPCAT 2016 is open to students from all over India. The exam is not only for students from Uttar Pradesh but is open to students from all parts of India and from any recognised board.
• Foreign Nationals / Non-Resident Indians are also eligible to appear in this UPCAT 2016 Entrance Exam. 

Academic Qualification

• The candidate should have qualified or appearing in higher secondary examination from ICSE / Intermediate or any other equivalent examination.
• During the last two year of study, the candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
• Minimum Marks: In the qualifying examination the candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English (40% in case of Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribes or any other categories notified by the Government)
• The candidates whose result is awaited will be given provisional admission to take up the competitive entrance examination.
  • If in case they get selected for admission to the BDS course, they shall not be admitted to that course until they fulfil the eligibility criteria given above.

UPCAT Application Form 2016 will be available from February 2, 2016, and can be obtained via two modes mentioned below:

• Mode 1: In person: The application form can be obtained in person at any one of the participating colleges by paying cash Rs.1500 
• Mode 2: By post: The application form can be availed via post, by sending a crossed bank draft of Rs 1600 to any of the colleges in favour of “Association of Private Medical & Dental Colleges of Uttar Pradesh” payable at Bareilly. Candidates have to mention their address carefully so that the UPCAT BDS 2016 Application reaches them correctly.

           Use a black/blue pen to fill the form and to shade the ovals while filling up the application form.

UPCAT Dental Admit Card

• UPCAT Dental Admit Card 2016 will be available in the online mode tentatively in the month of May 10, 2016. In order to download the admit card, the candidates have to enter their user id and password / application form.
• Admit card will consist of all the necessary details such as name, application number, date of the entrance exam, venue of the exam centre etc. Candidates are required to take the printout of the admit card. This must be noted that no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without a valid admit card.

UPCAT Dental 2016 Examination Fees

Candidates are required to pay the following Application Fee 

• Indian Residents
  • By Cash: Rs. 1500
  • By Demand Draft: Rs. 1600
• NRI / PIO Candidates: US$50

Annual Fee Structure of the participating colleges

In general tuition fee varies between Rs. 2,50,000 to Rs. 3,75,000 per year for the BDS Course. It does not include food / lodging and caution money.

UPCAT Dental 2016 Exam Centre List

The dental entrance exam will be conducted in 11 cities. 8 test centres are in UP itself and 3 test centres are outside UP and they are New Delhi, Dehradun & Patna.

UPCAT Dental 2016 Selection Process

• UPCAT Dental 2016 Result is expected to be declared on June 16, 2016
• Eligible candidates will be called for counseling. Candidates who secure a minimum of 50% marks in UPCAT DENTAL 2016a17 shall be considered eligible for BDS course
• Admission to all the participating dental colleges will be done on the basis of UPCAT BDS Result.

UPCAT Dental 2016 Counselling

• UPCAT Dental Counselling 2016 will be conducted tentatively in the month of June-July, 2016.
• The counselling will be held in an online mode.The seat allotment will be based on the options exercised and rank obtained by the candidates during the online counselling process.
• If the candidate fails to remit the fee or join the college, he/she will not be eligible for any further allotment.

Documents to be produced at the time of Admission

Admission into BDS courses shall be given only after the candidate produces the original of the following documents at the office of the Principal of whichever institution they are admitted into.

• High school certificates as proof of date of birth.
• Marksheet of Class 10 & Class 12 examination.
• Certificate of Class 10 & 12  examinations.
• Migration certificate
• Character certificate from school / college last attended.
• Admit/Allotment card of the UPCAT Dental 2016.
• Six passport size photographs.
• Affidavits as the case may be.

UPCAT Dental 2016 Exam Pattern

• Type: Objective Type pen & paper based test.
• Duration: 180 minutes
• Total Questions: 200 MCQ’s
• Total Marks: 200
• The question paper will be given in English only
• Each correct answer will be awarded one mark.
• Zero marks shall be given to no response.
• Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking for incorrect answer
