About IISc Bangalore UG Admission

IISc Bangalore Admission 2018 in UG programme is offered by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The graduates of this programme will obtain a Bachelor of Science degree with a Specialisation. IISc Bangalore UG Admission Eligibility criteria

Academic Qualification:

  • Candidates who have completed their II PUC/ Class 12  in 2017 and those who are expecting to complete their II PUC/ Class 12 in 2018 are eligible to apply.
  • The candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects during their II PUC/ Class 12.
  • Candidates who have studied Biology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science, etc., in addition to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are also eligible to apply.

Minimum Qualifying Marks: The candidates must have secured a first class or 60% or equivalent grade (relaxed to pass class for SC/ST candidates) in the II PUC/ Class 12 examination

Undertaking of Entrance Exam for IISC BS Admission

The student seeking admission in Bachelor of Sciences course has to undertake one of the following Entrance Exam to be eligible for admission. The three important entrance exams are mentioned below.

IISC B.Sc Admission through JEE & NEET UG

Admissions in this program are done through marks attained in any one of the three entrance Exam. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically-Handicapped (PH) and Kashmiri-Migrant (KM) candidates: As per Government of India regulations, and following the National List.

IISc Bangalore UG Admission Result and Counselling

The selection of the candidates for the admission in IISC Bangalore for B.Sc course will be done in two phases. The two of the phases are mentioned below.

Selection Phase 1

  1. KVPY: The first set of admission offers will be made to KVPY candidates in May 2018

JEE Main Exam Pattern

JEE Main Exam Pattern consists of two paper, Paper 1 (B.E. / B. Tech.) and Paper 2 (B. Arch. / B. Planning). JEE Main (The Joint Entrance Examination) is conducted by CBSE for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs in NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).

NEET UG Exam Pattern

  • There will be only one paper in NEET entrance exam, which will be conducted in Pen and Paper mode.
  • Duration of Exam: 3 hours
  • Total no. of Questions: 180 Multiple Choice Questions from the three subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology). Four marks will be awarded for every correct response.
  • Negative Marking: For every incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score.
  • The Medium of Exam: From this year NEET question paper will be conducted in 8 languages that are Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu. 
  • The questions would be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen provided by CBSE at centre only.
