About FDDI

FDDI Admission 2017 is based on the All India Selection Test (AIST) in Footwear Design & Development Institute. FDDI was set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India in the year 1986 with an objective to provide human resource and technical services to the industry. All India Selection Test (AIST) is an online test conducted by FDDI in order to give admission to eligible candidates in undergraduate & integrated programmes.

FDDI is the first institute in the world to get prestigious ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.The institute conducts a wide range of professional programmes in the area of Retail, Footwear, Design, Leather Goods and Management.

  • The syllabi, training software and teaching materials of FDDI are prepared by the renowned international experts and organisations such as Southfield College, ARS Sutoria, PFI & senior professors of IIM Ahmedabad and FMS New Delhi.
  • Till last year, the institute offered 4 years B.Design Course but from this year, the FDDI is offering 3 years B.Sc Course. The degree would be awarded by IGNOU.

FDDI Eligibility criteria

Academic Qualification: Candidates who have passed Class 12 examination or appearing in Class 12 Board Examination in 2017 are eligible to apply for all the courses.

Age Limit: The maximum age of the candidate can be 25 years as on July 31, 2017. However, there is no age limit for the candidates appearing for PG courses.

Candidates who have appeared in any of these given below or any other equivalent entrance test will be exempted from appearing AIST entrance test. You should contact the university for the same.

FDDI PG programmes Eligibility


Candidates who have appeared in any of these CAT/XAT/MAT/AIMA/JMET/NMAT/AMCAT/SNAP/GMAT/AIM-CAT/ or another equivalent entrance test will be exempted from appearing AIST entrance test.

FDDI Application form and Admit Card

Applicants applying fir the FDDI Admission have to fill the FDDI application Form in online mode only. Applicants have to submit the duly filled in application form on or before the last date i.e. 22 May 2017. Follow the link given below to fill and submit the online application form.

Submission of the Application Form


Applicants have to fill and submit the application form in "Online" mode only, After the successful payment of the FDDI Application Form candidates have to take the printout of the confirmation page which can be used for the further references. Applicants do not need to send any printed application form anywhere as the submission of FDDI Application Form is an online process,

FDDI Fees

After completion of the filling process of the FDDI, Application form Candidates are required to pay an Application Fees of Rs 500 via Debit Card/ Credit Card or Net Banking. Check the fee structure of the Undergraduate Programmes.

FDDI Result and Counselling

  • FDDI  All India Merit List 2017 will be prepared on the basis of the result of AIST will be declared soon after that shortlisted candidates will be called for Counseling.
  • Campus Allotment: The program and the campus will be allotted to the candidate on the basis of his/her rank and preference.
  • Admissions will be made strictly on merit basis (Rank-wise) and counseling / admissions will continue till all the seats get filled-up.

FDDI Exam pattern

  • FDDI will be a Computer Based Test. The Exam will be conducted in English and Hindi.
  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes duration
  • Total Questions: 150 objective type questions in Hindi & English.
  • Multiple choices for these questions will be available and candidates are required to choose the right answer.
  • Scoring: Each question would carry 1 mark
  • There will be NO NEGATIVE marking.
  • FDDI Sample Papers can be purchased by the candidates from FDDI Campus.

FDDI Important details

FDDI Scholarship 2017

The institute offers a scholarship to the meritorious/poor/underprivileged students enrolled in various programmes at FDDI.Fee concession is also granted every year to the needy students as per the policy. FDDI Sponsorship category for admission seekers:

  • 15% seats are reserved for industry sponsored candidates.
  • Industry sponsoring such candidates will be required to pay twice the tuition fee in case of Noida and for all other campuses, 50% extra fee will be charged.
  • FDDI will not be responsible for Industry internship & placement of such candidates.

Kindly Note: The NRI applicants will be treated as sponsored candidates. The admission procedure is same as Sponsorship category students.
