About AIPVT

All India Pre- Veterinary Test is for admission to 1st year of Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) course. Online application for AIPVT will start from the first week of January 2017. A candidate seeking admission can apply on or before the first week of March 2017. AIPVT  is a veterinary entrance exam that is held for admission to 15% of the total number of seats in Veterinary Colleges in India (except J&K) for Indian Nationals.

  • State Quota seats (other than 15% All India Quota) in the Veterinary Colleges in participating States.
  • Participating States in AIPVT 2017: Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, and Rajasthan.

Duration of the Course: The duration of B.V.Sc & A.H degree course is 5 years. The course also includes a compulsory rotating internship of six months.

  • AIPVT Total No. of Seats - 628 seats (inclusive of all seats in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Manipur) (AIPVT Seats).

While filling up, the application form candidates need to keep their mobile phone with them as an OTP would be sent to that mobile number. Also, be ready with your parent's annual income as it would be asked while filling up the AIPVT application form.

AIPVT Participating Colleges

  • From this year, RPVT (Rajasthan Pre Veterinary Exam) will not be conducted, and seats in the veterinary colleges will be filled through AIPVT.
  • Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Manipur will fill 100% B.V.Sc. & A.H. course seats based on AIPVT Merit list

AIPVT Eligibility criteria

Nationality: Indian (except the state of J&K as the state has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984.)

For candidates of Jammu & Kashmir appearing in AIPVT 2017

  • A candidate from J&K can only apply if they submit an affidavit in the proforma on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs 10.
  • The proforma should be duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate the effect stating that
    • The applicant is not eligible to compete for B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats in the state of J&K and hence not eligible to seek admission in Veterinary Colleges of J&K
    • The applicant is not domicile of J&K. 

Age: Candidate must have attained or will attain the age of 17 years as on December 31, 2017. Candidates attaining 17 years on January 1, 2018, or later are not eligible to appear for the test. Upper Age Limit is 25 years as on December 1, 2017. Upper Age Limit shall be relaxed by a period of five years for the candidates of SC/ST/OBC.

Academic QualificationsThe candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to Class 12 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study.

  • The last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level, not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the NCERT after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education. 

OR

  • The Intermediate Science examination in science from a recognised university/board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English.

Note: A Candidate who is taking the qualifying exam prior to the AIPVT or whose result is awaited may also apply & take the exam but they shall not be eligible for admission to the programme if they do not pass the qualifying exam with the required percentage of marks specified.

Minimum Qualifying Marks: Secured a minimum of 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English at 10+2/Intermediate Science Examination. Candidates should also have passed these subjects individually. 

Number of Attempts: The candidates can appear in AIPVT any number of times. There is no limit to appear in AIPVT Exam.

The candidates can apply for AIPVT 2017 ONLY online. There is NO offline Process of filling the AIPVT 2017 Application Form

Online Mode: Candidates may apply through online mode by visiting the official website. The application fees can be paid via Debit Card/Credit Card or through downloaded E-Challan.

Steps to be followed to apply Online 

  • Step 1: Fill in the Online Application form
  • Step 2: Upload Scanned Images of Photograph, Signature, Thumb Impression and Self Declaration Form if applicable.
  • Step 3: Payment of Application Fee via Debit/Credit Card or e-challan
  • Step 4: Download the Confirmation Page and keep the same in safe custody.

Important Points

  • AIPVT Application Form cannot be withdrawn once it has been successfully submitted Online.
  • Only one Mobile Number and One Email Id are valid for one application.
  • The fee will not be accepted by the VCI in any other mode i.e., Demand Draft/Cheque/Cash/IPO/Money Order etc.
  • No request for Refund of fee once remitted by the candidate will be entertained by the VCI under any circumstances. 
  • There is a provision for Auto Refund of Duplicate/Excess Payment.

Candidates can pay the AIPVT Application Fee via two modes:

  • Mode 1: Online; Candidates can pay the Application Fee by Debit/Credit Card using Online Payment Gateway Facility.
  • Mode 2: Offline: Candidates can pay the Application Fee in the VCI Account in any of the branches of State Bank of India with the help of e-challan.

AIPVT Result and Counselling

AIPVT Result 2017 will be declared by last week of June 2017. AIPVT Result will be based on the AIPVT Answer keys released by VCI. 

AIPVT Answer Keys are displayed on the AIPVT website prior to the declaration of the AIPVT result.

AIPVT Exam pattern

Duration of Exam: 3 hours

It will be an objective type examination consisting of 180 Multiple Choice Questions. The question paper would both be in English & Hindi Language. The candidates are allowed take the AIPVT 2017 Question Paper with them.

It will be a pen & paper based test and the candidate has to answer the questions on the OMR Sheet with a blue/black ball point pen. The candidate cannot change the answer once marked and the use of eraser or white/correction fluid is prohibited as the answer sheets are machine gradable. 

The AIPVT Exam Question paper pattern would be as follows

  • Each Question would be of 3 marks 
  • There would be negative marking and 1 mark would be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • No marks would be deducted for unanswered questions.

AIPVT 2017 Syllabus

 AIPVT exam would be based on the syllabus of Class 11 & Class 12 or equivalent of Indian University/ State Board/ CBSE. The council has prescribed syllabus for the AIPVT exam and students can accordingly prepare for the exam. >> AIPVT Syllabus 2017.

Reservation of Seats

For Candidates with Physical Disability:

A Candidate shall not be allowed admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course including those admitted under 15% reserved quota of Veterinary Council of India he/she suffer disability in physical fitness as listed below:
a) Disability of total body including disability of chest/spine more than 50%
b) Disability of lower limb of more than 50%
c) Disability of upper limb
d) Visually handicapped candidates and those with hearing disability
e) Candidates with progressive diseases like myopathies etc.
f) Disabilities which otherwise would interfere in the performance of duties of a veterinarian.
