Most of the population of Madhya Pradesh belongs to tribal population, who are unable to join mainstream development which makes Madhya Pradesh one of the least developed states of the Nation. In order to bring the population to mainstream, Government of Madhya Pradesh offers a number of scholarships and commonly referred to as the MP Scholarship to the students for continuation of their higher education (Class 10 onwards).

In order to facilitate students and to streamline the process of application and administration of scholarships, Government of Madhya Pradesh has come up with its own scholarship portal named as MP Scholarship Portal 2.0. Using the online Scholarship portal student can search and make applications for the scholarship for which they are eligible. They can even track their application using the scholarship portal. The portal also facilitates students with other relevant information such as Hostels for Students, details related to Nodal Offices for Scholarships, details of IFSC codes of banks etc. The institutes can also use the facilities offered by the MP Scholarship Portal to verify and forward the applications of their students for any scholarship etc.
