IEO is an English Olympiad, first English language testing in India, is being conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) in association with British Council (BC).

Earlier SOF has uploaded the IEO Sample Papers for Class 1 to 11 on its official website. International English Olympiad (IEO) will be conducted on 6, 14 and 24 October 2017. IEO (International English Olympiad) sample paper for the class 1 to 11 is given on this page. The students who are appearing in the IEO test this year can take help with the IEO sample paper. The students who are going to appear in the International English Olympiad (IEO) exam this year for class 1 will have to follow the exam pattern given below:

  • Total question: 35
  • Duration of the exam: 1 hr.
  • Total sections: 4
  • Marks per question: 1 for Word and Structure Knowledge, Reading and Spoken and Written Expression and 2 marks for Achievers Section
  • Syllabus: Examination will include Jumbled Letters, Words and Animal. Details are given below.

The students who are going to appear in the International English Olympiad (IEO) exam for class 2 will have to follow the exam pattern given below:

  • Total question: 35
  • Duration of the exam: 1 hr.
  • Total sections: 4
  • Marks per question: 1 for Word and Structure Knowledge, Reading and Spoken and Written Expression and 2 marks for Achievers Section
  • Syllabus: Section-wise syllabus is given below.
    • Section – 1: Collocations, Spellings, Words related to animals and their sounds, Clothes, Body parts, Basic emotions, Food, etc. Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Adverbs, Adjectives, Articles, Prepositions, Conjunctions, Contractions, Word order, Punctuation, Simple tenses.
    • Section – 2: Search for and retrieve information from various text types like stories, short dialogues, etc. Acquire broad understanding of and look for specific information in short texts like messages, invitations, etc.
    • Section – 3: Ability to understand situation-based variations in functions like thanking, greeting, asking for permission, introducing (oneself), etc.
